Mile Stone #3 Research Game Plan.

My research game plan for Milestone #3 is to look for 3 more sources. (i already have 3). My goal is look for as many sources as possible. The sources that are needed to complete the entire paper are 1 book source, 1 scholarly and 2 encyclopedia entry. I know that research can take a long time so I'm going to give myself a head start. Professor Dragan informed me in class that one of my journalistic sources is not credible enough, i was not aware of this information due to the newspaper being from England. (i don't know much about international newspapers). In the future i will make sure not to do this again.

  1. Actually, you don't really want to find as many sources as possible -- you want to target certain kinds of courses -- like 2 scholarly articles from EBSCOhost / JSTOR and 2 encyclopedia articles from the Gale Virtual Reference Library. There are buttons on our Research Speed Dial to let you get to these 'responsible' databases quickly. (When choosing a newspaper source in LexisNexis, you want to try and find something from a 'paper of record' like The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian or similar.) Evaluating news sources is tough -- it's called 'news literacy' -- I'm here to help if you have other questions about journalistic sources. So remember to target specific kinds of sources following our guidelines so you won't waste time finding a lot of sources from every kind of source. --Prof. Dragan
